DUTIES:
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Executive Director of Operations in overseeing the day-to-day operation of Minisi Convenience & Gift. The position helps ensure excellent customer service, effective staff performance, appropriate inventory management, clean and well-merchandised store standards, and compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
· Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, while supporting a positive, efficient, and welcoming customer experience.
· Provide high-quality customer service, promptly address customer concerns, and build positive community-focused relationships.
· Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
· Supervise, motivate, and support store employees during shifts, assisting with training, scheduling, performance monitoring, and adherence to workplace standards.
· Support sales goals and expense control by monitoring inventory levels, placing orders, reducing waste and shrinkage, and ensuring proper product rotation, pricing, and promotional displays.
· Handle cash registers, safe counts, daily cash reconciliation, deposits, sales reports, and basic financial records accurately.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, loss prevention, and security requirements, and support audits and inspections as required.
· Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the effective operation of the store.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is considered an asset.
· Previous retail or convenience store experience is preferred; supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset.
· Strong customer service, communication, organization, and team-support skills.
· Basic mathematical, cash-handling, and computer skills.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced retail environment requiring multitasking, teamwork, and attention to detail.
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including walking or standing for extended periods; lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs; reaching above shoulder height and below waist level; bending, twisting, squatting; stocking shelves; and frequent repetitive hand actions.
