The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily housekeeping operations and maintaining housekeeping operating standards as outlined by The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites. The supervisor is also responsible for overseeing room attendants and ensuring the delivery of excellent guest satisfaction and experience. The supervisor is also required to assist the Housekeeping Manager in various activities and responsibilities.
As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will act as a role model, sharing your experience and continually inspiring the housekeeping team to go above and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist a team of room attendants, laundry attendants, and housemen
- Daily allocation of rooms and deep cleaning tasks
- Check occupied and departure rooms to ensure they have been cleaned to the expected standards as outlined by The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites
- Routine inspection of guest rooms in order to identify deficiencies, areas of attention, and that all guestrooms meet hotel standards in order to provide the best possible guest experience
- Manage guest requests, including additional amenities, VIP requirements, etc. Ensuring all relevant information is passed along to the appropriate team members
- Know and understand all room categories, classes, and types. Including cleaning requirements, amenities, and layout
- Work with the Executive Housekeeping Manager to address any and all guest queries, concerns, and complaints, achieving positive outcomes in a timely and efficient manner
- Carry out and organize lost and found functions
- Communicate with the maintenance department in order to identify maintenance deficiencies
- Assist the Executive Housekeeping manager with training requirements for all aspects of the department
- Communicate the needs of the department with management
- Assist other departments when necessary and maintain good working relationships
- May be required to perform duties of employees being supervised
- Must have comprehensive understanding of hotel emergency procedures
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Professional attitude and the ability to follow instruction required
- Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines
- Physical mobility and stamina required
- Detail oriented and the ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- At least 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced Hotel setting required
- Experience leading, directing, and developing a team of employees preferred
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting as well as throughout the facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The Housekeeping Supervisor will also operate in clean, well-lit laundry setting as well as throughout the facility. This role routinely uses standard laundry equipment such as industrial washers, dryers, and laundry press machines. The employee may occasionally be exposed corrosive chemicals as well as infectious waste, diseases, various medical conditions, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with guests, family members and other personnel.

The employee is frequently required to sit/stand for extended periods while performing daily job functions. They may also be required on occasion to stoop or kneel.
