Fergie’s Café is a busy, quality-driven restaurant in Brackendale/Squamish known for consistent execution, strong team culture, and high-volume service. We’re looking for cooks who take pride in clean, organized work and great food.
The Role:
As a Cook at Fergie’s, you’ll support daily prep and service execution while maintaining high standards for food quality, speed, cleanliness, and teamwork. This role may include line work, prep, and support duties depending on experience and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Execute station setup, prep, and service to Fergie’s standards (quality, consistency, speed)
- Follow recipes, plating specs, and portion controls
- Maintain strong mise en place and communicate proactively during service
- Handle prep tasks (knife work, batching sauces/dressings, stocks, proteins, vegetables, etc.)
- Ensure proper food handling, labeling, storage, and rotation (FIFO)
- Keep a clean and organized workstation; follow opening/closing checklists
- Work safely and follow kitchen SOPs, including allergen awareness
- Support dish area/cleaning tasks as needed in a team environment
- Receive and store deliveries properly when required
What We’re Looking For
- Previous kitchen experience as a prep cook and/or line cook (volume experience is a plus)
- Good knife skills and ability to work clean and efficiently
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work calmly under pressure
- Attention to detail and a commitment to consistency
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to ~50 lbs
Requirements (Preferred)
- FoodSafe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain quickly)
- Experience with brunch service is an asset
- Availability on weekends/holidays is an asset (depending on role)
