Position Summary
We’re currently seeking skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operatorsto join our construction team. Ideal candidates will bring a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably within the civil construction sector, less experience will be considered.
About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent and Site Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Operator will play a key role in civil utility installation including storm, sewer, water, and shallow utilities. This position involves the use of various equipment to support different stages of construction such as excavation, grading, and site preparation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment to support trenching, grading, and excavation activities
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment
- Assist in the installation of manholes, catch basins, and utility piping
- Collaborate closely with ground crew and other operators to meet daily targets
- Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and actively participate in site safety initiatives
- Support the crew with manual labor when necessary (Rare Occurrence)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating equipment in civil construction
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with ground staff
- Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends on occasiuon
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36.00-$45.00 per hour
