Position Summary
Living Grace Home Care & Wellness Inc. is seeking a compassionate, dependable Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Support Worker to provide care and companionship to an older adult living with dementia.
This position is ideal for someone who is patient, gentle, and enjoys building meaningful relationships while helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. It may be particularly well suited to a retired PSW, nursing student, homemaker, or someone seeking supplemental hours.
Schedule
We are seeking two part-time caregivers to share coverage:
Morning Position
- Approximately 1.5 hours per day
Evening Position
- Approximately 1.25 hours per day
- Consistent weekly schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care (grooming, hygiene, dressing, toileting as required)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Accompany the client on walks and gentle activities
- Assist with daily routines and encourage independence
- Provide meal and hydration support
- Offer medication reminders (as permitted)
- Observe and report changes in client condition
- Follow individualized care plans and company policies
Qualifications
- PSW Certificate or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
- Compassionate, respectful, and patient
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to work independently
Assets / Preferred
- Experience supporting older adults
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
