Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Leasing Agent to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing processes, fostering positive relationships with prospective and current tenants, and ensuring smooth property operations. This role offers an engaging environment where excellent customer service and administrative skills are essential to success. Prior experience with property management software such as Yardi, along with strong sales and negotiation abilities, will be highly valued. The Leasing Agent plays a vital role in maintaining occupancy rates and enhancing tenant satisfaction, making this position integral to our community’s growth.
Duties
- Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours, highlighting features and amenities effectively
- Manage leasing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions using professional phone etiquette
- Process rental applications, verify information, and coordinate background checks and credit screenings
- Utilize Yardi or similar property management software for data entry, lease documentation, and tenant record keeping
- Negotiate lease terms with applicants to secure mutually beneficial agreements
- Maintain positive relationships with current tenants through ongoing communication and customer relationship management strategies
- Assist in marketing efforts by creating appealing listings and promoting available units
- Prepare lease agreements, amendments, and related documentation accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with maintenance teams using CMMS or other systems to ensure property upkeep aligns with leasing commitments
- Organize files and records systematically for easy access during audits or inspections
Qualifications
- Proven experience in office administration, property management, or leasing roles is preferred
- Knowledge of Yardi or similar property management software is desirable
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette
- Demonstrated ability in sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management
- Exceptional organizational skills including data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Previous experience with administrative tasks such as document preparation and scheduling
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills to foster positive interactions with tenants and team members
