Description
Our client is seeking a Fund Operations Specialist to join their team, based in Burnaby. The team’s primary mission is to ensure the safe custody and timely settlement of assets into the company’s funds, and to support investment decision-making through timely, accurate trade and security information.
This role will initially focus on custody, settlement, and asset servicing, with opportunities to take on additional responsibilities over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
Monitor and post equity, fixed-income, FX, and futures trades
Support timely settlement and clearing by working closely with Citibank (custodian, middle office service provider, and collateral manager)
Process post-trade activities including corporate actions and dividends
Assist with setting up new broker relationships as requested by trading and legal
Maintain complete and accurate standing data for securities in the securities database
Coordinate with trading and provide trading support as needed (including information maintenance)
Support analyst paper portfolios
Track errors and help measure team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs)
Manage process improvement projects, from small enhancements to larger initiatives, with the goal of streamlining operations
What You Must Have
Undergraduate degree with a proven track record of academic achievement and continuous improvement
3–5 years of professional experience with a track record of success and progression (internships/placements count)
Prior experience in financial services is not required, but a strong interest in the investment industry is an asset
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Collaborative team mindset with strong relationship-building skills
