Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Corresponding with clients and opposing counsel on matters
- Completing client intake, and other general administrative duties as required;
- Helping the lawyers and clerks in completing documents for matters including briefs, financial statements, disclosure briefs, pleadings and trial documents.
- Drafting, preparing and proofreading correspondence, accounts, etc.
- Dealing with and responding to client inquiries expeditiously and conducting follow-up as required.
- Maintaining and ensuring accuracy of firm calendar
- Other tasks as assigned by lawyers.
A successful candidate would have:
- Excellent writing and drafting skills
- Strong attention to detail - Knowledge of court portals and court filing deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Drive to learn and improve skills
- Previous legal experience 1 to 3 years
