Majors Contracting Ltd./MCL Drilling is seeking an experienced, motivated, and safety-focused Diamond Drilling Supervisor to help lead our diamond drilling operations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day diamond drilling operations.
- Lead, mentor, and support drilling crews while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Plan and coordinate equipment, personnel, and materials required for drilling projects.
- Monitor drilling productivity and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Complete daily reports, safety documentation, drilling records, and production reports.
- Conduct field inspections, hazard assessments, and toolbox meetings.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Assist with project planning, mobilization, demobilization, and scheduling.
- Ensure environmental protection measures are implemented and maintained.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in diamond drilling operations, with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of surface diamond drilling methods, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of drilling safety procedures and provincial Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Experience supervising crews in remote and/or mine site environments.
- Ability to effectively plan work, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting drilling equipment considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Class 3 or higher considered an asset).
- Current First Aid, WHMIS, and other safety certifications are considered assets.
- Ability to travel and work rotational schedules as required.
