Logistics Dispatcher /Freight Broker for Asset Based Trucking Company
As a Logistics Dispatcher in our brokerage division, you’ll coordinate daily freight movements by sourcing, assigning, and managing partner carriers to ensure reliable, on‑time delivery for our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Source, select, and dispatch partner carriers for customer loads based on service needs, pricing, and availability.
- Negotiate carrier rates while maintaining healthy margins and strong service performance.
- Communicate load details clearly to carriers, including appointment times, commodity info, and special requirements.
- Track and trace shipments using TMS and carrier updates; proactively communicate status to customers.
- Resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, missed appointments, or accessorial events.
- Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to support consistent capacity and service.
- Verify carrier compliance, including insurance, safety ratings, and onboarding requirements.
- Maintain accurate load documentation and update statuses in the TMS.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting to ensure smooth freight execution.
- Participate in after‑hours or weekend coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage, carrier dispatching, or logistics operations (preferred).
- Strong understanding of carrier networks, market rates, and transportation regulations.
- Proficiency with Load Link, Excel, Microsoft and Trucking TMS
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of North American freight lanes and market dynamics.
