Pacific Western Fire Protection (2017) Ltd. is seeking a motivated and dependable Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to join our growing team.
This position involves a combination of field service and office-based responsibilities. The successful candidate will perform inspection, service, installation, and troubleshooting of commercial kitchen fire suppression systems while also assisting in the office with quoting, documentation, and customer support.

Key ResponsibilitiesField Responsibilities
- Inspection, testing, service, and maintenance of commercial kitchen fire suppression systems
- Installation of new kitchen suppression systems and related components
- Servicing and replacing agent tanks, detection lines, fusible links, nozzles, and mechanical release mechanisms
- Ensuring work is completed in compliance with applicable fire codes, manufacturer standards, and safety regulations
- Completing service reports and documentation accurately and professionally
Office Responsibilities
- Assisting with quoting and preparing estimates for service work and small projects
- Reviewing inspection reports and identifying deficiencies
- Providing technical support and customer service to clients
- Assisting with project planning, documentation, and service reporting
- Supporting internal teams with technical expertise when required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fire protection, kitchen suppression systems, or mechanical service work
- Experience servicing systems such as Ansul, Amerex, Range Guard, or Pyro-Chem is considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform service work independently
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to obtain RCMP security clearance
- Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation
Assets (Preferred, but not required)
- Experience in the Fire Life Safety industry
- Factory training on kitchen fire suppression systems
- Experience working with ServiceTrade
- Experience with inspection documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance
- ASTTBC certification or willingness to pursue certification
- Leadership experience or ability to take on a senior/lead role
