Position Overview: As an Avenue Shop Swap and Sell Retail Associate, you will play a pivotal role in providing excellent customer service, conducting transactions, and managing merchandise in a fast-paced retail resale environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with resale transactions, sales, and inquiries, evaluating items for potential options or purchase, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and contributing to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Interaction:
· Greet customers warmly and assist them in a friendly and professional manner.
· Answer customer questions about products, services, and policies.
· Provide information on the pawn process, loan terms, and merchandise pricing.
2. Transaction Handling:
· Accept and process option items, ensuring accuracy in recording item details, customer information, and terms.
· Conduct sales transactions, including handling cash and processing credit/debit card payments.
· Maintain accurate records of transactions and adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
3. Merchandise Management:
· Evaluate items brought in for options or sale based on established criteria.
· Set prices for merchandise in accordance with company guidelines and market trends.
· Arrange, display, and organize merchandise to maximize visibility and customer engagement.
4. Customer Service:
· Assist customers in selecting merchandise, explaining product features, and addressing concerns.
· Work to resolve customer complaints or issues in a courteous and professional manner.
· Offer recommendations and up sell items to increase sales revenue.
5. Security and Compliance:
· Adhere to security protocols to ensure the safety of customers, staff, and merchandise.
· Verify customer identification and maintain compliance with local and provincial regulations..
6. Store Maintenance:
· Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing to create a positive shopping environment.
· Perform regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent discrepancies.
· Assist in basic store upkeep tasks, including cleaning, restocking, and arranging displays.
7. Team Collaboration:
· Collaborate with colleagues and store management to achieve sales targets and provide cohesive customer experiences.
8. Product Knowledge:
· Stay informed about the various items in the shop, including electronics, jewelry, collectibles, and more.
· Continuously update your knowledge about market trends, product values, and industry developments.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash transactions.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
· Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
· Ability to assess and evaluate items for quality and value.
· Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred).
Working Conditions:
· The job involves standing, walking, and interacting with customers for extended periods.
· Depending on the location and regulations, exposure to a wide variety of merchandise, including electronics, jewelry, tools, and more.
· May require occasional lifting of moderately heavy items.
