Chapman Industries Ltd is a growing company that has been in operation in the Okanagan for over 30 years. As a general contractor in the field of Heavy Civil Construction and Earthworks, we specialize in subdivision development, site preparation and servicing, public road reconstruction, and road and highway construction.
We are searching for an experienced Civil Construction Labourer to join our hardworking crew here in the Okanagan. Please note that the job location may vary depending on the current project location.
The ideal candidate must have 2+ years of experience in a related field as well as:
- Experience around equipment
- Eye for detail
- Good communication skills
- Great work ethic and attitude
- Attention to safety standards
WAGES BASED ON EXPERIENCE
The Labourer is responsible to perform general construction and labouring activities as assigned.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist heavy equipment operators to secure loads to equipment
- Assist in the pipe laying tasks
- Comply with all company and safety regulations
- Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have a thorough understanding of Chapman Industries' safety manual
- Must have a valid BC driver’s licence
- Must be able to safely operate company vehicles
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work well with others
Education and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a related field
- Must have a valid BC Driver’s Licence
- Must have WHIMIS training
The following education or experience will be considered an asset:
Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Bending and crouching for extended periods of time
- Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions

- Working outdoors in all seasons
