Support Direct to Store Distribution Representative and Merchandiser
Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company is looking for a dynamic, ambitious individual to join our well-established route of Direct to Store Distribution (DSD) Sales Representative as a Support Representative and Merchandiser.
Role and Responsibilities
The DSD Sales Representative is the local face of Covered Bridge Chips to our convenience and grocery customers.
Because of the nature of the convenience and grocery store business, the DSD Sales Rep will need to start their day early, by 6:00 am. They must also be able to work alone completing assigned routes and tasks unsupervised in a correct and timely manner; such as basic in-store merchandising activities like organizing product shelving, rotating product and keeping signage up to date. Being a part of an already established route provides an opportunity for growth in sales and best representation of the company and brand. You will be responsible for weekends, off shift route maintenance and re-supply. In this unique position you will be responsible for sales growth and brand image.
The DSD Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining the paperwork for the route, including sales invoices and deposits, replying to calls and emails, and ordering the needed inventory from the company warehouse to maintain the route. The DSD Sales Representative and Support Representative, you will be expected to continue the excellence of well-maintained inventory, rotation of product, and compliance from the Primary Route Driver. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the Primary Driver to maintain the paperwork, and route excellence.
Maintaining strong customer relationships and generating new customers is the main indicator of success for the DSD Sales Rep and Support Representative role.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- High School Diploma
- Previous retail or grocery sales experience preferred
- This is an active and physical role, successful candidates will need to be physically able to bend/squat/twist and stand repeatedly, lift and carry boxes of 10Lbs to 50lbs, and on rare occasions climb ladders to access retail back stock.
Preferred Skills and Traits
Well organized, able to follow directions, work independently. Ability to operate a large truck safely and confidently, following all instructions and traffic laws concerning vehicle operation and safety. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and operate an iPhone for various functions. Clean and tidy (business casual attire) personal appearance is expected
Compensation:
Daily base and commission on every penny sold.
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $41,600.00 Salaried
Commissions: 5% on all route sales.
