Your Opportunity
As a Cloud Accounting Technician, you will be a vital member of the Cloud Accounting Team, supporting clients as a trusted advisor on their accounting systems, workflows and processes. In this role, you will utilize your accounting knowledge and technical expertise to help clients improve how their financial operations are structured, maintained and scaled. You are a detail-oriented, curious individual who can quickly learn and work with minimal supervision.
Your Scope:

Advise clients on accounting system integration, optimization and best practices (e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite)

Communicate and translate accounting concepts and technical information into clear, practical guidance for clients

Review client prepared financial data and provide insights to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency

Support income tax and GST reporting, if assigned

Aid in full cycle payroll and tasks designated by the payroll manager, as needed

Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and modeling, as required

Utilize outstanding verbal and written communication skills to provide regular updates to the Accounting Supervisor, as needed

Assist with statutory audits, SOC2, business resumption, and addressing internal control weaknesses, as required
Your Qualifications:

Some background in Accounting or Finance, including demonstrated knowledge of ASPE/IFRS requirements and practices, is preferred

Ongoing or completed accounting degree or diploma (or equivalent experience)

Intermediate Microsoft Excel training, able to develop models, scenarios, forecasts, and dashboards

Technical expertise and familiarity with accounting software

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Exceptional time management and organizational skills, capable of multitasking various tasks, projects, and strategic improvement initiatives
