Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible administering health and safety programs that meet regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Duties
- Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Administer the return to work (WSIB) program
- Provide training development for employees on health and safety practices, ensuring all staff are informed about workplace safety protocols.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety, encouraging employee participation in health and safety initiatives.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, preparing reports with recommendations for future prevention.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to health and safety management.
Experience
- Proven experience in health and safety management or a related field is essential.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, WSIB administration, and other relevant health and safety standards.
- Experience in training development is highly desirable; the ability to create engaging training materials is a plus.
- Familiarity with automotive processes or environments is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for conducting thorough investigations and audits.
