Join our dynamic team as a Boat Orientator/Dock Hand, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth and safe boat operations at our marina. Duties
- Assist boat owners, visitors and renters with docking, mooring, and unmooring boats efficiently and safely
- Guide vessels into designated slips using rigging techniques and manual handling skills
- Operate gas bar
- Conduct routine inspections of docks, pilings, and mooring equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dock area, including removing debris and securing equipment
- Support boat maintenance activities by understanding basic mechanical systems and reporting issues promptly
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate boat movements during busy periods or special events
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including the proper use of rigging gear and safety equipment
Requirements
Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Prior experience or familiarity with rigging techniques used in securing boats
- Mechanical knowledge or interest in basic boat systems and maintenance practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods outdoors
- Strong communication skills to assist guests effectively and work well within a team
- Attention to detail to identify potential hazards or equipment issues early on
- Willingness to learn safety protocols related to marina operations and boating activities
- A positive attitude with enthusiasm for working in an outdoor maritime environment
