Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing a variety of flooring materials, ensuring precise measurements, proper surface preparation, and flawless finishing. Your expertise will contribute to transforming spaces with durable, high-quality flooring solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine flooring layouts and installation procedures.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments or adhesives for optimal flooring adhesion.
- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to cut, shape, and install various flooring materials including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and carpet.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently to cut, grind, or finish flooring surfaces.
- Measure accurately to ensure proper fitment and alignment of flooring components.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and masonry to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless integration of building systems.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris in compliance with safety standards.
- Follow safety protocols diligently when working with heavy equipment or during concrete finishing and restoration tasks.
- Assist in estimating project costs by assessing material requirements and labor needs when necessary.
- Complete projects within scheduled timeframes while upholding quality standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding construction schematics.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and heavy equipment operation related to flooring installation.
- Strong construction experience with knowledge of concrete forming, concrete finishing, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, welding, restoration work, and construction painting is a plus.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with tile laying and cabinetry installation enhances versatility on job sites.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes for material procurement and project planning.
- Excellent attention to detail for precise measurements and flawless finishes.
- Good physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in various environments.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
