Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to lead our construction project estimation efforts. This pivotal role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating closely with project teams to ensure bids are competitive and profitable. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed and accurate construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Lead the bidding process by evaluating subcontractor proposals, negotiating terms, and securing competitive pricing to maximize project profitability.
- Collaborate with project management teams to establish realistic budgets, monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, and implement effective cost control measures.
- Analyze construction site conditions and incorporate site-specific factors into estimates to ensure precision and feasibility.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline scope, costs, schedules, and contractual terms aligned with client expectations.
- Oversee the estimation team’s workflow, ensuring timely delivery of accurate estimates while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and contractual practices to inform accurate forecasting and pricing strategies.
Skills
- Proven expertise in construction estimating with a strong understanding of cost control, pricing strategies, and bid preparation.
- Extensive experience with construction management software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for estimating and document review.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable subcontractor agreements and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety protocols, and site-specific challenges influencing estimates.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction law to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in managing estimation teams or overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
