Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our logistics team. This job is in Dryden/Red Lake area. It is 10 days on and 4 days off chip hauling work. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle additional responsibilities related to freight handling and equipment operation. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance freight transportation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs.
- Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transit.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff for efficient loading, unloading, and freight management.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Experience with freight transportation and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and punctuality.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting freight or equipment when required.
