We’re looking for a highly technical and solutions-oriented Senior Specialist, Quality Engineering, to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about predictive analytics, advanced manufacturing quality systems, metrology, and solving complex technical challenges in a high-precision environment.
You’ll act as a subject matter expert (SME), partnering closely with Manufacturing Operations and suppliers to proactively identify risks, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement using Industry 4.0 technologies and advanced problem-solving methodologies.
What You’ll Do:
Advanced Quality Engineering & Risk Analysis
- Lead APQP risk assessments and develop PFMEAs based on engineering process flows and customer Design FMEAs
- Utilize predictive analytics and data-driven methodologies to identify potential failure modes before non-conformance occurs
- Champion root cause analysis for complex quality and manufacturing issues related to capability, tolerancing, and raw materials
- Analyze SPC and real-time statistical data to forecast and prevent quality concerns
Digital Validation & Metrology
- Review and enhance Measurement System Analysis (MSA) structures with customers and suppliers
- Ensure data integrity and digital assurance across validation protocols
- Support advanced metrology initiatives including non-contact measurement systems and high-precision gauge technologies
Project & Supplier Quality Leadership
- Manage the full quality lifecycle of new parts and equipment, including prototypes, PPAP, and production launches
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish approved supply chains and strong quality standards
- Integrate supplier quality data into internal risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
Operational Excellence & Leadership
- Participate in layered and systemic audits focused on high-risk areas identified through anomaly reporting
- Mentor and train junior team members on advanced quality engineering tools and Industry 4.0 methodologies
- Support 5S and digital visual management initiatives to improve operational transparency and efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Robotics, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, or a related technical field
- P.Eng designation is considered a strong asset
- Master’s degree or post-graduate training in Data Science, Predictive Analytics, or Quality 4.0 is an asset
- CQE or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred
- CNC and precision machining certifications are considered an asset
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in high-precision manufacturing or advanced quality engineering environments
- Strong experience with APQP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and root cause analysis methodologies
- Experience utilizing MES/ERP-integrated QMS systems and data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau
- Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of advanced statistical analysis and predictive quality methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and technical decision-making abilities
- Strong math and analytical skills, particularly in geometry, trigonometry, and micro-tolerance verification
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
- Strong communication and mentorship skills with the ability to support technical knowledge transfer across teams
