Nokiiwin Tribal Council requires an experienced, knowledgeable, motivated, and career-minded and highly motivated FASD Support Case Worker who is responsible for providing provide comprehensive services to Indigenous people who may be affected by FASD and with a confirmed FASD diagnosis who become involved with the criminal justice system
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive case management services for Indigenous individuals affected by, or suspected of having, FASD who are involved with the criminal justice system, including support for those with confirmed diagnoses.
- Assess client needs and develop individualized, client-centred service plans that address housing, food security, healthcare, mental wellness, education, employment, cultural supports, and community reintegration.
- Facilitate access to FASD assessment and diagnostic services through referrals, appointment coordination, advocacy, and ongoing client support throughout the assessment process.
- Advocate for clients and assist them in navigating court proceedings, legal obligations, custody transitions, diversion programs, and community-based justice supports.
- Establish, strengthen, and maintain collaborative partnerships with justice agencies, healthcare providers, Indigenous organizations, social service agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Deliver community outreach, public education, and awareness initiatives on FASD, available services, Indigenous justice approaches, and culturally relevant support systems.
- Promote meaningful Indigenous community engagement through consultations, partnership development, outreach activities, and community-driven justice and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, case notes, service statistics, outcome tracking, and program reports in compliance with organizational, legislative, and funding requirements.
- Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement by identifying service gaps, barriers, and emerging needs, and recommending strategies to enhance FASD-informed justice supports.
- Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, anti-racist services that incorporate Indigenous values, teachings, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, land-based practices, and restorative approaches while supporting clients' connections to culture, family, language, and community.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A university degree or college diploma in a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.
- Must have experience working with First Nation organizations, First Nation Government, First Nation communities and other levels of government. A keen appreciation of the Nokiiwin Tribal Council Member First Nation cultures and community aspirations is required.
- Must have proven well-developed communication, staff/public relations and negotiating experience; must be highly self-motivated and able to work well independently or as a team member.
- Must have excellent computer skills, proven experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and publishing software preferably in a Microsoft Office Suite environment.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in policy, planning and program development and implementation.
- Must have valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
- For new employees only: Criminal Reference check as relevant to the position is required.

Applies culturally safe, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and strengths-based approaches in all interactions. Builds respectful relationships with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, communities, families, and partner organizations while promoting Indigenous ways of knowing, healing, wellness, and restorative justice practices.
Ideal candidate will reside in Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg (Pic Mobert First Nation), Marathon or White River area.
