About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our client's team in Oshawa, Ontario. As the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, you will ensure every customer receives a professional and positive service experience while coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair services efficiently.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong automotive knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and accurately document their vehicle concerns.
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate repair work with technicians.
- Prepare repair orders, estimates, and service recommendations.
- Explain maintenance and repair recommendations clearly to customers.
- Keep customers informed of repair progress, timelines, and additional work required.
- Obtain customer authorization before performing additional repairs.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate diagnoses and timely vehicle repairs.
- Review completed repairs with customers and explain invoices upon vehicle delivery.
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate repair orders and customer records.
- Promote preventative maintenance and recommend additional services when appropriate.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and manufacturer service standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Automotive Service Advisor in an automotive dealership or repair facility is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills are required.
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance, repairs, and vehicle systems.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and dealership management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Preferred experience using automotive parts catalog and service information software, including NextPart, PartsTech, ALLDATA, and Tech Metrics.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.
