Maintenance Planner - Scarborough, ON
Our client, a dynamic manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to oversee and streamline maintenance operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient scheduling, inventory management, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks, optimize resources, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance requests, ensuring clear and consistent communication with stakeholders.
- Procure and manage maintenance-related inventory, including spare parts, consumables, and services, to minimize shortages.
- Monitor and follow up on purchase orders with suppliers, researching alternative solutions when necessary.
- Generate and submit monthly reports on inventory value, cycle counts, and adjustments.
- Coordinate between departments to schedule and prioritize maintenance assignments in a 24/7 operational setting.
- Develop accurate labor estimates and ensure all required resources and parts are available before scheduling work orders.
- Create short- and long-term plans, including comprehensive job packages.
- Ensure thorough follow-up and completion of every maintenance job.
- Develop and analyze KPI reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain documentation related to food safety, health and safety, security, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with teams to establish preventive maintenance (PM) programs, analyze equipment history, and address repetitive failures.
- Review and plan preventive and corrective maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
- Assist in the development and execution of capital projects, including estimating time and costs.
- Validate work order timelines and provide technical support to maintenance teams for process optimization.
- Update and maintain the Oracle system to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts.
- Prioritize and schedule work backlogs while ensuring adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- Completion of professional training or relevant post-secondary education in a technical or maintenance-related field
- 2+ years of experience in a maintenance planning role
- Experience in the food, beverage, or packaged goods industry an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Familiarity with Oracle systems is an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
