About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Property Maintenance Carpenter Technician to join our growing maintenance team supporting residential and city housing projects throughout Calgary.
This is a mobile position requiring travel between multiple sites each day to complete repairs, maintenance work, inspections, and customer service appointments. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with our maintenance team to ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
We are looking for a hands-on problem solver who can assess repair issues, determine practical solutions, complete quality repairs, and recognize when a repair requires escalation to a specialized trade or additional expertise.
Responsibilities
- Perform drywall repairs, patching, mudding, sanding, and finishing.
- Complete finish carpentry repairs including trim, doors, baseboards, cabinets, and hardware.
- Perform general handyman and property maintenance repairs.
- Assess maintenance issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Identify the scope of work required and complete repairs safely and efficiently within your skill set.
- Recognize when repairs require specialized trades, additional resources, or management review and escalate accordingly.
- Provide recommendations and documentation when repairs fall outside the scope of minor maintenance work.
- Schedule appointments and communicate directly with residents, tenants, and customers.
- Travel to multiple job sites throughout the city each day.
- Maintain accurate notes, photos, and job updates using the company app.
- Work independently to manage daily service calls and priorities.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team, coordinators, and management to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls during scheduled on-call rotations.
- Complete after-hours emergency repairs when required.
Qualifications Required
- Experience in residential maintenance, carpentry, renovations, or property repairs.
- Strong drywall repair and finishing skills.
- Experience with finish carpentry and general handyman repairs.
- Ability to assess repair issues and determine practical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recognize when work falls outside the scope of a maintenance technician role and requires escalation.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for scheduling, communication, and work order management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Clean Driver's Abstract.
- Must supply your own hand and power tools required for daily work.
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting, carrying, climbing, and working in various environments.
Preferred
- Journeyperson Carpenter, Registered Apprentice, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience working in occupied residential housing or property maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance repairs interior and exterior.
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time position.
- Travel between multiple properties and job sites daily.
- Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is required.
- Occasional overtime is required based on emergency repairs, workload demands, and operational requirements.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance requests when scheduled on-call.

Pay Range: $28.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
