Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable individual to ensure the safety of our premises, personnel, and assets. In this role, you will patrol assigned areas, monitor & control access to the store, and respond promptly to emergencies or unauthorized activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Access Control: Monitor building entrances and exits; direct Guest concerns to the Customer Service supervisor.
- Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular foot patrols of the facility and parking lot to deter trespassing, theft, or vandalism.
- Incident Response: Respond immediately to alarms, disturbances, and medical or safety emergencies. Investigate suspicious behavior and decide the best passive course of action. No detention or physical restraint required; the priority is incident deterrence and de-escalation.
- Reporting: Verbally report any suspicious activity or Guest incident to Manager on duty.
- Emergency Protocol: Assist in executing emergency procedures, including evacuations, fire drills, and coordinating with local police, ambulance, or fire departments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong observation, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Valid First Aid and CPR / AED certification is an asset.
**Previous security experience is an asset, but not required for this position.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
