Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Field GIS Technician to support our geospatial projects across various seismic project sites. The ideal candidate will assist in data collection, mapping, and GIS analysis to ensure accurate project documentation and efficient data management. Duties
- Conduct on-site data collection using GPS devices and other surveying tools to gather spatial information.
- Create, update, and maintain detailed maps and drawings using AutoCAD, CAD, ArcGIS, and GIS software.
- Assist with seismic site mapping, ensuring data accuracy for project planning and execution.
- Manage geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity, organization, and accessibility for team members.
- Support project teams by providing precise spatial data and technical insights during construction phases.
- Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to interpret field data and translate it into usable digital formats.
- Perform quality control checks on collected data to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and experience with Data management systems.
- Experience with Data collection techniques in using Garmin & Avenza
- Familiarity with databases used for storing geospatial information.
- Knowledge of seismic processes and site surveying practices is a plus.
- Ability to operate GPS units, total stations, and other field data collection equipment effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality data accuracy.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
