Job Summary
Sushi by the Cove is seeking a friendly and efficient Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with strong communication and multitasking skills. The Server will be responsible for upholding food safety standards and delivering excellent customer care to enhance guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring presentation quality
- Upsell menu items to maximize guest satisfaction and restaurant revenue
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering functions including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with setting up tables, cleaning, and resetting dining areas between guests
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Address guest inquiries professionally and resolve any issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is a plus
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to handle food safely and follow sanitation standards
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy
- Familiarity with food industry terminology, serving protocols, and hospitality practices
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work during peak hours including weekends and holidays as needed
