Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Full Time Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic facilities team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the seamless operation and upkeep of our Retirement Residence. As a vital member of our Orchard Walk Team you will be responsible for supporting daily facility maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring safety standards are consistently met. Your energetic approach and leadership/ team skills will help foster a well-maintained, efficient workspace that promotes productivity and safety for all residents and team membmers.
Duties
- Assist in performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues if warranted.
- Support the maintenance manager with projects by coordinating with vendors, supervising subcontractors, or leading small teams when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal requests for maintenance support and communicating effectively with team members.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a maintenance or facilities environment is preferred.
- Electrical and plumbing experience an asset
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English to facilitate clear documentation and teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proactive attitude towards safety and problem-solving.
