Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Millwright Apprentice on behalf of our client, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and agricultural processing.
This is a hands-on industrial maintenance opportunity in a food manufacturing environment with strict site safety requirements. Candidates must be able to comply with respirator fit requirements, including no beards, as well as site policies that do not permit smoking or cell phones on company premises.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Millwrights to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, install, and maintain industrial equipment while continuing to develop their trade skills in an active production environment.
Job Details
- Position: Industrial Mechanic Millwright Apprentice
- Apprentice Level: Level 2 or Level 3
- Location: Windsor, ON
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Employment Type: Evaluation-to-hire / temporary-to-permanent
- Pay: Hourly rate to be confirmed based on apprenticeship level and experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical failures and identifying required repairs or adjustments
- Support the repair, rebuild, installation, and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment
- Assist with maintaining mechanical equipment, power transmission systems, conveyors, couplings, and related components
- Participate in preventative and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime
- Support work involving coupling alignment, rigging, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding as required
- Read and follow equipment drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation
- Document completed work, repairs, modifications, and equipment updates
- Work closely with licensed Millwrights, maintenance staff, production teams, and supervisors
- Follow established safety standards, procedures, and site policies
- Continue developing technical skills through hands-on work and on-the-job learning
Required Qualifications
- Registered Level 2 or Level 3 Industrial Mechanic Millwright Apprentice
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Exposure to industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or production equipment
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
- Willingness to learn from experienced Millwrights
- Ability to follow direction and work safely in an industrial environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to perform physical work in an active industrial environment
Assets
- Previous experience as a Millwright Apprentice
- Experience in food manufacturing, feed, agricultural processing, or a related industrial environment
- Knowledge of OHSA standards, GMPs, HACCP, or food/feed safety requirements
- Exposure to conveyors, coupling alignments, hydraulics, safe rigging practices, cutting, grinding, and welding
- Previous experience in a unionized industrial environment
Working Conditions
- No beards are permitted due to respirator fit and site health and safety requirements

Employment Terms
This position is expected to start on Express Employment Professionals payroll. It is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with long-term intent, based on employee performance and business needs.
