Summerhill Day School is looking for a Registered Early Childhood Educator (or equivalent training/experience) to work in our Toddler room. This position would be full time, working approximately 40 hours per week.
Summerhill offers a child-centred curriculum philosophy with a strong emphasis on the Reggio Emilia approach to learning, including Dr. Montessori's emphasis on children's independence and development of self-help skills. We are looking for an ECE who understands these philosophies or is excited to learn more about them.
As a RECE at Summerhill, you would become part of our small teaching team. We have 12 full-time staff and have a ‘family’ feel. Our teaching staff are provided with paid planning time and are compensated for professional development opportunities, including staff wellness days.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working with young children and who is excited about working within a small team.
RECEs must be available to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:15 am and 6:00 pm.
RECEs must have:
- Proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Current Immunization Record
- Currrent First Aid/CPR -C Training
- Current TB test
- Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check
- Food Handlers Certificate an asset
