Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Instrument Technician/Electrician to join our team in the Dawson Creek area. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems within a dynamic industrial environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with industrial maintenance practices. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and CNC equipment, ensuring optimal operation of manufacturing processes. Candidates with experience in schematics, AutoCAD, low voltage systems, and customer service are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical and instrumentation systems across manufacturing facilities.
- Install, calibrate, and repair sensors, PLCs, and other automated equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and AutoCAD drawings to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
- Assist in the installation of new electrical components and control systems following safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize equipment performance.
- Document maintenance activities and update system records accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to low voltage electrical systems and industrial standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or as an industrial electrician within manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment and systems.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, schematics, AutoCAD drawings, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery operation and maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work and industrial environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members.
- Relevant certifications or technical training in electrical systems or instrumentation is a plus.
