The intent of the program is to enhance school readiness, support success & establish meaningful relationships prior to and during the Kindergarten & Grade 1 school year. This position will work closely with the program coordinators, elders, parents, students & the community. The worker will collaborate to deliver a culturally appropriate early learning educational curriculum. Qeq College is a Kindergarten and Grade 1 preparatory program that focuses on students & their families within a holistic framework. A 4-week Summer Program provides opportunities to children & families to familiarize themselves with school routines, classrooms & supports. The ECE/CYC/Aboriginal Education Assistant will conduct a variety of assessments & provide information to the student, family & program coordinators.
· Current First-Aid Certificate
· Ability to provide professional references
· Diplomas, certificates or other evidence of training related to child growth/development
· Experience working in a childcare or recreational setting
· Successful candidates will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check
