The Taber Youth Employment Program provides youth and young adults (18 – 30) who are facing barriers to employment, an opportunity to participate in a 16 - week skill development and work experience program.

The Youth Employment Program, funded by the Government of Canada, provides youth (18 – 30) who are facing barriers to employment, an opportunity to participate in a 16 - week skill development and work experience program. The participation includes 6 weeks of Employability Skills Training, which is the in class component of the program, where the students learn skills that include resume writing, public speaking, and working in teams.

Following the in class section, the participants are connected with a suitable employer for a Quality Employment Opportunity, that will guide them toward a possible career. This session will last for an additional 10 weeks. During the program, both the in class and the job placement sections, participants are paid minimum wage through federal government funding.

Portfolio Development and Supervised Work Experience
