Summary
We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team. This vital role involves working directly with children, teenagers and adults with special needs in our community-based programs, helping to foster their development and well-being while supporting their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to children with exceptional needs in various community settings.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique requirements.
- Assist with daily activities, including communication, social interaction, and skill development.
- Support families by offering guidance and resources related to their child's needs.
- Collaborate with team members and specialists to ensure consistent and effective care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress observed.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Utilize communication skills effectively, including American Sign Language when applicable.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience or background in special education or caregiving for children with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language preferred.
- Ability to work compassionately with children and support their developmental goals.
- Knowledge of medication administration is an asset.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.
- Flexibility and patience in handling diverse situations.
- Certification or training in caregiving or related fields is a plus.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
