The Karen Cooper Gallery on Granville Island in Vancouver seeks an individual with strong managerial and sales skills. The gallery takes pride to offer exceptional service and quality to the public and expects that you share this philosophy. You must have fluency in English with excellent communication skills, both written and oral, allowing comfortable and effective interaction with a wide range of people.
The position requires that you work without supervision for periods of time while the owner is unavailable due to travel demands. During those periods you will be responsible for staff and the day to day operation of the gallery including working with clients and suppliers. Solid computer skills are needed and although the role is not physically demanding you must be able to climb a ladder to reach upper shelves and capable of lifting 50 pounds.
Flexibility in scheduling is required as the gallery is open daily through most of the year moving to six days per week during the winter.

In addition to possessing a background suitable for an art gallery role, this individual will exude a passion for the outdoors and boast extensive knowledge of British Columbia's natural history and geography
