Street Sweeper Operator
Wood Buffalo Paving is hiring an experienced Street Sweeper Operator for the upcoming season.
This role includes operating street sweepers to clean roadways, parking lots, job sites, and residential/commercial areas. The operator will be responsible for safe operation, daily maintenance, greasing, washing, broom changes, pre-trips, paperwork, and identifying basic mechanical issues.
Duties include:
- Operate street sweepers safely and efficiently
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Grease, wash, and maintain the machine daily
- Change brooms and assist with minor maintenance
- Sweep roads, parking lots, job sites, and tight areas
- Complete daily paperwork and reports
- Work with crews when required
- Perform hand work where equipment cannot reach
- Keep equipment clean, organized, and smoke-free
- Represent the company professionally with customers and coworkers
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Air brake endorsement preferred
- Street sweeper experience preferred
- Elgin sweeper experience is an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Safety-focused mindset
- Good communication and written skills
- Ability to work independently or with a crew
- Hard hat and work boots required
- GPS/navigation ability to reach job sites
