As a member of the Operations team, the Production Supervisor is responsible to ensure that production requirements are met safely, on time and within acceptable levels of quality, and costs, specific to all materials, documentation and services required to support production and customers, both internal and external, for the assigned Department.

Responsible for the physical and psychological safety of all employees. Ensure employees work in accordance with OH&S Act and CGT’s EHS Policies & Procedures – PPE, work methods, plant rules, mutual respect, etc.
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of employees on various pieces of equipment
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
- Resolve work problems (people, equipment, etc.) and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Training and mentoring of employees in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Evaluate the performance of employees and the department through performance appraisals; Recommend actions such as hire, promote, discipline, etc.
- Prepare production and other ad hoc reports
- Lead and participate on various teams
- Learn the basics of operating the equipment and assist with set-up or operation where needed
- Manage in accordance to the Collective Labour Agreement
- Other duties as assigned

University degree or college diploma OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years of production supervisory/leadership experience in a unionized setting, ideally within a similar manufacturing environment and with similar equipment
- Applied experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Computer savvy (must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications)
- Ideal to have experience in a:
- Chemical, plastic or rubber manufacturing environment;
- Automotive manufacturing experience;
- SAP experience
Work Environment:
- Usually work in plant and lab environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces. Some exposure to chemicals.
- Standard 40-hour work week, rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime hours to accommodate activities.
- Domestic and International travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing, walking. Minor lifting, bending, push/pull requirements
- This is a full-time role, based on a 40-hour standard work week on rotating shifts. Additional hours are required to accommodate business activities.
