About the Job
We are looking for a Drop-off Attendant at our Walker Waste & Recycling Drop-off Depot located in Niagara.
As a Drop-off Attendant, you will be part of our team in Niagara Falls. Under supervision of the Operations Manager, you will provide the general public with instruction on the types of materials that can be received at the drop-off site to ensure that waste is acceptable and complies with the Environmental Compliance Approval government regulation. The wage for this role is $26.32/hr.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Greeting and directing customers in a polite and service-oriented manner.
- Working to maintain the grounds and facility. This includes such duties as sweeping, litter collection, controlling odours and occasionally painting.
- Coordinating traffic flow to ensure safety of customers and fellow employees on the site.
- Safely directing the public to the correct dumping locations.
- Checking for contamination in loads and pleasantly explaining approved wastes to customers.
- Kindly responding to customer inquiries or concerns and providing information.
- Train in scale-house to provide temporary back-up.
- Occasionally operating site loader to load waste and recycling into appropriate bins.
Here’s What You Need
- Passion for Health and Safety and Environmental Performance.
- Loader Operator experience considered an asset
- Good communication skills - able to work with diverse personalities.
- Excellent customer service including courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
Capacity to follow directives and fulfill requests.
