Known for its commitment to exceptional customer experiences, operational excellence, and industry leadership, the company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance and supporting operations across multiple Canadian locations, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with ASPE, and supporting a broad range of accounting functions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and contribute to business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and inventory accounting.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with ASPE and internal reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including inventory, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Support cash flow management activities, including forecasting, bank reconciliations, and treasury functions.
- Partner with operational and leadership teams to analyze financial performance, identify trends, and support strategic business decisions.
- Monitor key financial metrics, including profitability, margins, and operating expenses, against budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes, including preparing schedules and responding to audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within retail, consumer goods, cannabis, liquor, or other multi-location environments.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
