Role: Sr. Backend/AWS Serverless Engineer

We are looking for a senior engineer with deep AWS serverless experience who can contribute to existing event-driven workflows with minimal onboarding. The ideal candidate combines strong Node.js/TypeScript backend skills with hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience and the ability to work effectively in an Agile environment (Insurance policy administration background preferred).
Technical requirements
· 4+ years of hands-on experience with core AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, EC2, RDS, and DynamoDB
· 3+ years building infrastructure as code using AWS SAM (Serverless Application Model) and
· Working knowledge of serverless and distributed architectural design patterns, with the ability to optimize Lambda functions and DynamoDB access patterns for performance and reliability
· Comfortable navigating and modifying existing event-driven workflows without requiring full onboarding before contributing
· Familiarity with containerized application deployment via Amazon ECS and RESTful API service design in a microservices environment / Node.js, TypeScript, and backend development required
· 4+ years of demonstrated experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
· Familiarity with Node.js versioning, dependency management, and upgrade considerations
· Strong, evolving competence across multiple programming languages and technologies, with the ability to work across implementation environments and toolsets
· Working knowledge of object-oriented principles with proficiency in C# or Java as a complementary language
· Proven experience designing and building automated test suites for backend services — unit, integration, and end-to-end — with a focus on reliability over volume
· Proficiency with Node.js test frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or similar
· Fluency with CI/CD toolsets and the ability to integrate automated tests into existing deployment pipelines
· Experience monitoring and validating automated workflows in production using CloudWatch and Datadog / Angular UI development preferred
· 4+ years working with Angular 11 or higher, with the ability to build, maintain, and modify component-driven user interfaces

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
