Unit Electric ,a manufacturing plant, located in Okanagan Falls, is seeking experienced and dependable Journeyperson Welders to join our fabrication team. Reporting to the Lead Hand, this role involves working in a fast paced environment where teamwork and adherence to quality standards are essential. This position is part of the United Steel Workers bargaining unit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
Please Note: This is not a fly in/fly out or remote position. We are located in Okanagan Falls and you would have to be able to commute or relocate.

Summary of what you will do:
- Repair and fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings.
- Fabrication of custom jigs, fixtures and metal structures.
- Welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW),
- Operate Plasma equipment, metal shaping and bending machines.
- Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
- Operate overhead cranes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a welder preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Journeyperson Red Seal Certificate is required.
- Valid welding certification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) preferred.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to work overtime and afternoon shift as required.
