SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for the day-to-day Construction Site Management; is primarily responsible for the effective and efficient completion of a construction project.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY - TASK DESCRIPTION
- Collaborate and direct field operations for projects from conception to completion

Collaborate on construction schedules to meet contractual obligations

Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and labour
-
Review the project plans and specifications, and comment on schedule, constructability, possible cost saving measures and potential construction problems

Inform the Project Manager of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained in the Project documents
-
Oversee all onsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
-
Coordinate all field personnel as required to meet project budgets and schedules, and manage all field staffing requirements, including all subcontractors and suppliers

Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory

Coordinate all required testing and inspections
-
Prepare weekly internal and external reports pertaining to job status

Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging ones – 2 week look a heads

Analyze, manage and mitigate risks

Coach apprentices and other construction workers as needed

Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

Project site safety and management, and collaboration with all third-party and in-house resources

Attend bi-weekly construction meetings with all supervisors to ensure consistency across all projects

All necessary resources that may be required to fulfil the duties of this role will be afforded to the position, including office staff support, computer and technical equipment and support
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Post-Secondary technical training i.e.: Civil Tech, Engineering etc. or equivalent experience

Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Ability to form strong working relationships with diverse groups of people, including company employees at all levels, clients, and other outside professionals
- Demonstrated analytical and statistical knowledge using general business mathematical skills (able to prepare and understand budget reports)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry and practices.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of applicable regulations, especially in occupational health and safety.
- Proven ability to successfully manage heavy workloads with multiple priorities
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Teams

Valid driver’s license to travel between job sites
- Consistent and unwavering use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and steel-toe boots. Additional PPE varies by site status and conditions

Fluctuating weather and site conditions; indoor and outdoor environments, including but not limited to narrow spaces, ladders, scaffolding, dust or fumes, and other trades task environments

Balancing, bending, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and stooping during inspection tasks

Working within sound regulated environment
