Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Crew Leader to oversee landscape renovation and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience with interlock, grading, excavation, concrete work, and heavy equipment operation, along with the ability to manage crews and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise landscape renovation and construction crews on residential and commercial projects.
- Coordinate daily activities involving interlock installation, grading, excavation, soil preparation, retaining walls, concrete work, and other hardscape projects.
- Read and interpret project plans, layouts, and design drawings.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of equipment and machinery, including skid steers, excavators, compactors, and other construction equipment.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed on schedule and according to specifications.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and management throughout project execution.
- Perform site inspections and troubleshoot issues to maintain productivity and project quality.
- Assist with material planning, site preparation, and daily crew organization.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of experience in landscape construction, hardscaping, excavation, or a related construction field.
- Previous leadership or crew supervision experience.
- Strong knowledge of interlock installation, grading, drainage, soil preparation, concrete work, and landscape construction practices.
- Experience operating construction and landscaping equipment, including excavators and skid steers.
- Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience towing trailers and operating heavy equipment is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with landscape design implementation.
- Knowledge of drainage systems and site grading.
- Equipment operator certifications.
- Health and safety training (Working at Heights, First Aid, etc.) is an asset.
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
