Position Summary
The Shawarma Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking shawarma meats, maintaining food quality standards, ensuring kitchen cleanliness, and supporting daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well in a fast-paced environment, and has experience preparing Middle Eastern cuisine.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook shawarma chicken, beef, and other menu items according to company recipes and standards.
- Marinate, season, and properly store meats and ingredients.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and prep area.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Follow opening, closing, and daily cleaning procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Shawarma Chef, Grill Cook, Line Cook, or similar role.
- Experience preparing Middle Eastern cuisine is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
