The Hanuyeh Ghunli Development Corporation (HGDC), the economic development arm of the Nadleh Whut’en First Nation, is seeking an experienced and motivated operational leader to serve as Senior Manager, Business Operations.
This is a unique opportunity to help oversee and support a growing portfolio of Nation-owned small and medium sized businesses while contributing to the long-term growth and operational development of a rapidly evolving Indigenous economic development corporation.
The Senior Manager, Business Operations will play a key role in supporting HGDC’s operating businesses by working directly with business managers and operational teams to strengthen operational performance, leadership capacity, accountability and organizational alignment across the Corporation’s business portfolio.
As HGDC continues to expand its business operations, strategic partnerships and economic development initiatives, the organization is seeking a practical, solutions-oriented and relationship-focused leader capable of helping businesses succeed while supporting HGDC’s broader organizational goals and long-term vision.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Executive Lead, the Senior Manager, Business Operations provides operational oversight, mentorship, coordination and support across HGDC’s portfolio of small and medium sized businesses.
The role acts as a key bridge between senior leadership and business operations and is responsible for helping ensure HGDC businesses are functioning effectively, operating in alignment with organizational priorities and receiving the support necessary to succeed and grow.
The Senior Manager will work directly with business managers and operational teams to:
· Support operational effectiveness and accountability;
· Strengthen consistency and communication across operations;
· Assist with problem-solving and operational planning;
· Mentor and support managers and operational staff;
· Identify operational challenges and opportunities;
· Help implement practical solutions and operational improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
· Experience leading people, coordinating teams, or supporting day-to-day operations in a business, organization or community setting.
· Experience in retail, hospitality, tourism, customer service, business operations, or other fast-paced environments where service, organization and problem-solving are important.
· The ability to support multiple business activities at the same time while maintaining a high standard of customer service, safety and operational excellence.
· Strong organizational skills, sound judgment and the ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability and customer experience.
· A collaborative leadership style that builds positive relationships with employees, members, customers, suppliers and partners.
· A commitment to supporting local economic opportunities and contributing to the long-term success of HGDC's business portfolio.

Experience working within Indigenous communities, understanding the Nation's economic development vision and a commitment to supporting Nadleh Whut'en members and families will be considered valuable assets.

Working Conditions
- Full-time hybrid position with a combination of work from home, the office and regular visits to HGDC business locations.
- Occasional travel between HGDC businesses, including Tse Yaz Gas Bar and other future ventures, to support managers, staff and day-to-day operations.
- Collaborative work environment that includes a mix of planning, administration, relationship-building and on-site support to help ensure HGDC businesses continue to grow and succeed.
Compensation
HGDC offers a competitive compensation package reflective of experience, qualifications and the scope of the role.
The annual salary range for this position is CAD $52,000-$65,000.
