We are seeking a Shop Assistant who is also willing to go to the field for Thread Supervision to join our team. This role involves general day to day shop operations, learning and assisting in maintenance and repair of equipment as well as going to the field when needed. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, keen eye for detail, and the eagerness to be safe and efficient during the shop and rig floor operations.
Primary Responsibilities (In Shop) :
- Work closely with the management in taking, documenting, diagnosing and repairing power tongs and casing equipment
- Washing, stripping and painting equipment.
- General housekeeping.
- Pick up supplies and parts.
- Pick up / drop off equipment to customers and job sites when required.
Primary Responsibilities (In Field) :
- Ensure all equipment is loaded and is in good working order.
- Obey all traffic laws and drive responsibly.
- Arrive at location on time and fit for duty.
- Abide by all site-specific practices, rules and orientations.
- Adhere to company policies and safety practices.
- Clean and inspect and prep casing and casing threads.
- Assist in the makeup of casing and tubing using conventional and integral power tongs
- Properly maintain and keep all equipment and vehicles clean.
- Practice good housekeeping in all shops and remote locations.
- Know how your equipment works and how to maintain it.
Requirements Prefered:
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of connection running procedures, torque tables and API standards is an asset, but not required.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, while performing required tasks.
- Must have a strong attention to detail, and be well organized.
- Must be able to work well in a team setting and independently.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must have steel-toed work boots and hard hat.
- Rig experience is an asset, but not required.
MUST HAVE:
- Valid and clean driver license
- H2S and First Aid
- LIVE IN GRANDE PRAIRIE OR AREA.
- Rig or Oilfield experience
Coveralls will be provided.
Training will be provided to the right candidate. If the candidate excels in this position there is opportunity to train and learn in computer torque monitoring as well.

Pay: $65,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
