Love People? So Do We.
Page the Cleaner has been making Edmontonians look good since 1935 — and the secret has never been just the cleaning. It's the person at the counter who remembers your name, asks how the wedding went, and genuinely cares that your favourite jacket comes back perfect.
That's the person we're looking for.
We're a family-owned Edmonton dry cleaner (part of a group that includes The Press Gallery, CRDN of Greater Edmonton, and Alberta Carpet & Furnace Cleaning), and we need a part-time Customer Service & Sales Specialist who brings warmth, energy, and curiosity to every single interaction.
Who You Are
- A natural people person. You get energy from meeting new faces every day. Asking a customer about their day isn't a script for you — it's just how you're wired.
- Genuinely positive. You bring good vibes to the counter, to your teammates, and even to a Monday morning rush.
- Curious and eager to learn. Fabrics, care labels, stain science, why a silk blouse needs different handling than a wool coat — you find this stuff interesting, and you love becoming the expert customers rely on.
- Sharp-eyed and thorough. Caring about people means caring about their things. You spot the loose button, the faint stain, the forgotten receipt in a pocket — because the details are how you show customers their favourite pieces are in good hands.
- A helper at heart. Recommending a repair, an alteration, or a protective treatment isn't "upselling" to you — it's helping someone get more life out of clothes they love.
- Calm and gracious under pressure. Rushes happen. The occasional unhappy customer happens. You stay warm, listen well, and turn things around.
What You'll Do
- Welcome & connect: Be the friendly face of Page — greet every customer, learn the regulars' names, and make drop-off and pick-up the best two minutes of their errand run.
- Advise & sell: Offer expert service advice, set clear expectations about garment care, and recommend services that keep customers' wardrobes looking their best.
- Expert intake: Inspect items at drop-off (check pockets, identify fabrics, spot that loose button), apply heat-seal barcodes for 100% item tracking, and enter orders into our software.
- Proactive follow-up: Manage the pick-up list, make friendly follow-up calls, and send reminders so nothing gets forgotten.
- The final touch: Assist with garment inspection and quality control — every garment leaves meeting our 90-year standard.
- Keep our space shining: Help maintain a clean, professional store (sweeping, dusting, tidying) — we take as much pride in our space as we do in your clothes.
- Work smart: Use Lean principles to simplify tasks, reduce waste, and keep the workspace streamlined. Got an idea to make something better? We want to hear it.
What You'll Need
- Education: Secondary school diploma (required)
- Experience: 1 year in customer service or sales preferred; textiles, laundry, or dry cleaning experience is a great bonus (but we'll happily teach a people person the garment side!)
- Physical stamina: Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling/tagging garments throughout the day
- Reliability: Consistently on time and dependable — your teammates and customers count on you
- Flexibility: Based in the West End, with occasional shifts in St. Albert as needed
What You'll Get
- Stability: Permanent part-time position with a historic Edmonton brand — over 90 years and going strong
- Benefits: Dental care and life insurance (eligibility details discussed at hire)
- Perks: Store discounts and free on-site parking
- Variety: Be part of a family of Alberta brands — dry cleaning, tailoring, garment care, and more
- A team that notices: A fast-paced, in-person environment where your contribution — and your positive energy — is seen and appreciated every day
