About Hyperborean Builders
We are the Cowichan Valley’s premier residential carpentry company, and business is booming. We have multiple projects underway and big plans for 2026 — which means we need a skilled carpenter who can hit the ground running.
Not looking yourself? If you refer someone we hire and they stay with us for at least three months, we’ll pay you a $500 referral fee.
What We Offer
- Up to $45 per hour — top-of-market rates based on experience
- Bootallowance up to $200 per year

What We’re Looking For
- Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter certification (required)
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract
- Residential construction experience; commercial experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently, manage your own work, and mentor apprentices
- Strong attention to quality — you take pride in the finish, not just the frame
- Reliability and honesty — we count on our team to show up and do the right thing
- Good communication skills with both crew members and clients
