Senior Procurement Advisor

Annual salary: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00
What you'll do
- The general scope of the work is to provide leadership and guidance in the procurement of a wide range of services to
support delivery of capital projects, particularly those with high value, high complexity and/or high risk impacts, in
accordance with BC Hydro procurement policies and processes.
- Responsible for recommending procurement models and determining appropriate sourcing methods, including the
preparation and evaluation of Contracting documents such as Supply Chain Strategy and Contracting Plan, RFT, RFP,
RFQ, RFSQ, RFI and RFEI.
- Manage structured procurement processes from strategy to award, while providing leadership, strategic and advisory
support to diverse project teams.
- Work with project teams to identify project requirements based on internal current state analysis, financial consideration,
best business practice, supply base characteristics, industry offerings, legal considerations, level of risk to BC Hydro and
any other opportunities or factors unique to the service to be sourced.
- Report regularly to the department manager on the status of sourcing initiatives and escalate any issues that may
negatively impact the success of the procurement process.
- Participate in the identification, development and roll out of business process improvements to enhance operational
efficiency.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the organization and external to BC
Hydro.
What you bring
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or business-related subject.
- A minimum of 7 years of procurement and sourcing experience in progressively senior roles.
- A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent designation along with strong knowledge of markets and
Supply Chain Management best practices and trends.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage medium to large procurement on infrastructure projects. Experience must
include: the development of procurement/contracting strategies, including determining the optimal risk allocation; the
preparation of procurement and contract documents; leading evaluation; leading contractor/supplier negotiations; and
supplier relationship management.
- Experience operating within a crown corporation or government environment is considered an asset.
